Formula for Successful Business Online Step 4: Work It

In my previous articles we’ve covered the importance of branding and a marketing system.  Now it’s time to get to work.  Whether you purchase the best system or a fancy training course by a top expert, none of it matters if you don’t actually go out and execute it.

Get Over It

You have to get uncomfortable before you get comfortable – Unknown

Building your own business is hard work.  You will face challenges after challenges, and you will need to work through each of them.  It means getting out of your comfort zone and doing the things you may not be accustomed to doing, working long hours, and learning new skills.  The sooner you start, the sooner you’ll see results.

Keep Learning

The other day I saw someone say, “I hope people don’t call me an expert because I’ll stop learning.”  This made me puzzled.  Being an expert and a leader is all about continuous learning.  One thing that all successful people seem to have in common is their commitment to education.  They spend hundreds, even thousands each month on books, CDs and learning material.  The more money they make, the more they spend.  It was no accident they became successful, because they were committed to learning and continued to increase their value.

Find Your Strength and Do More of It

When you are starting out, it can be confusing on where to start or what marketing strategy to focus on.  Everybody has their own skill set, learning curve and budget, so start with one or two that you feel most comfortable with.  As you learn and practice more, you will find what works best for you.  Once you discover your strength, take full advantage of it.  Do more of it and master it.

Don’t Lay All Your Eggs in One Basket

Like investment, diversify your strategy.  You will always have particular areas where you are good at, and those are your fundamentals to drive your business on.  The next step is to work on other areas so that in case one fails, you will have other options.  You don’t want to be in a position where your income is relying on one single source.

How Bad Do You Want It?

Nothing will work unless you do – Maya Angelou

I get questions such as “Is this hard?” or see someone say, “I tried it and it didn’t work”, as if it’s supposed to perform some magic on its own.  Don’t expect to be spoon-fed all the answers.  There is no program, opportunity, guru or upline that will solve all of your problems without your actions.  It takes consistent and continuous efforts and commitment on your part to build your business, and it comes down to your desire.  How bad do you want to succeed?  Are you looking for a way to make a few quick bucks, or do you really want your own business?

Success is a process and a journey.  How long will it take?  Well, you can stop working when you decide to retire, or to go broke.  Only you decide when.
